- born in 1926 in Poland
- moves to America in 1928 with his family
- after high-school he studies electronical engineering at Drexel University
- after his graduation he becomes technician for Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation
- works for Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles
- additionally he attends UCLA and receives his Master in 1959
- the same year he changes to the computer science department of RAND Corporation
- he leaves RAND in 1968 and founds the „Institute for the Future“
- founds several communication companies
- today he is CEO of Com21, a company that manufactures cable modems
